Fishing in Dordogne A private pond for catch-and-release fishing all year round.

On-site, you’ll discover a private 2-hectare fishing pond exclusively reserved for guests staying in the chalets, cottages, yurts, and cabins. Fishing is free, catch-and-release (No Kill), and night fishing is allowed under certain rules. Two canoes are available for fishing or simply enjoying a peaceful ride along the water. The well-maintained pond is home to various fish species, including carp ranging from 3 to 18 kg, as well as roach, tench, bream, pike, zander, and perch. We kindly ask our guests to respect the nature and tranquility of the area. A second 1-hectare pond is exclusively available for guests of the Gîtes de Clément. In the surrounding area, numerous rivers and ponds are accessible, subject to Dordogne’s fishing regulations. A fishing permit or a day pass, available in nearby villages, is required.

You gently dip your oar into the water and make your way to the center of the pond. It’s still early, the sun has just begun to rise, casting a soft, golden light across the water. In the distance, you hear the gentle murmur of the nearby forest... You unfold your fishing line, hook the bait, and cast it with a sharp flick, sending it several dozen meters away. The wait begins... Fifteen minutes, thirty minutes pass. Suddenly, you feel sharp tugs on the line.

You sense the strong pressure, and after five minutes of an intense struggle, you pull from the water... your first carp!
